In this video interview, Dr.Arora talks about the various types of treatments available to combat erectile dysfunction and the reasons why you should never self medicate.
The first thing that you need to know is the reason behind why you suffer from ED. There are 2 main causes for this problem which are either Physiological or Psychological, or a combination of the two.
In a lot of cases when somebody is suffering from ED, the negative over thinking and anxiety causes more problems than the actual loss of or weak erection.
The first thing that you need to do is to get in touch with a very good counselor ( a qualified sexologist should be also able to provide excellent counseling). His role will be to fully understand the underlying cause for this problem and guide you about how you can get out of the same.
In the majority of cases good counseling itself can help you get rid of ED especially if the problem is psychological. In case the root case of ED is physiological then the sexologist can prescribe medication after a thorough study of your case which may also include some tests.
It is important that you are honest and truthful about your condition so that the doctor can reach the correct diagnosis in order to prescribe the medication which will give you the best results.
Besides counseling and medication, vacuum therapy is another form of treatment which can help you attain an erection. And lastly, in the rarest of cases penile implant can be used for treating ED, but this is only done as the last resort and is not recommended until and unless the cause is totally untreatable by any other means. A lot of caution should be taken before even thinking about this procedure.
You also need to be aware that self medication is never a good idea, there are a lot of advertisements in publications both online and offline that sound tempting but be aware that treating the symptoms without getting to know the actual cause of erectile dysfunction will not provide any long lasting relief and may cause more problems.
Always consult with a qualified doctor before starting any treatment and never self medicate.
