A new study has revealed that men who are too fat or thin may be at increased risk of suffering from some sort of sexual health problem. We already know that the decisions that men make about their lifestyle choices have a direct bearing on their sexual functioning.
And this study reinterates that men who are very thin are at 22 times the risk that they will suffer from some sort of sexual dysfunction, when compared to men who are in the normal weight range. And the stats are even worse if your waist size is over 40 inches, in such cases overweight men are 71% more likely to experience erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation and painful sex than men who fall in the normal weight range.
So body mass index (BMI) is a key indicator if a man will suffer from sexual dysfunction, the surprising finding is that men with low BMI are also at an elevated risk of sexual problems. The reasons behind this finding are still unclear and that more research is required on this subject goes without saying.
What this study also highlights is that the underlying causes of very low or very high BMI in most cases are unhealthy lifestyle choices, which include lack of proper and healthy diet, lack of exercise and consumption of alcohol and recreational drugs; and these bad habits not only effect the general health in the form of developing diabetes and heart ailments etc but can also cause sexual dysfunction.
More reason now to take care how one lives their life and to try to get rid of the convenient but unhealthy eating habits and incorporating atleast a moderate excercising routine in their lives along with kicking any type of addictions.
