In a recent study of millennial’s in the U.S., it was revealed that this generation has fewer sex partners than their parent’s generation (generation X) did.
There could be a few different reasons for these findings.
They might not have the opportunity as many millennial’s have had to move back in with their parents, there is more awareness about HIV and this also makes them more cautious of casual one night stands and millennial’s are also just getting married later.
The lower number of sex partners can have can effect on their future relationships. When in a committed relationship, couples need to learn how to express themselves and reduce anxiety involved with sex, something they don’t need to do in casual hook ups.
This will help them learn how to differentiate between sexual connections and emotional connections, maintaining a sexually and emotionally satisfying committed relationship.
