Older men who take testosterone experience better bone health and to prevent anemia may be at risk from taking it. Men taking the hormone have an increased number of arterial plaques. Arterial plaques put these men at risks for heart attack and stroke.
Most men who take it, do to increase sexual function. These patients need to know the long-term consequences of taking this hormone. With the increase of use of the hormone noted over the past few years, a study of it’s effected.
The use of testosterone was also studied for impact on vitality and physical function. Tests showed it had no impact on either. There are further studies to be done but for now, testosterone supplements come with a labeled FDA warning of potential cardiac side effect.
