This becomes a problem for fertility because obesity can affect the hormones present in the body which determines the efficacy of all bodily functions including fertility. There is still much research that needs to be done around how male hormones affect reproduction and how obesity affects those hormones.
As more research is conducted and we develop a clearer picture of male fertility there will be more options for therapeutic treatment to prevent and treat these issues. This is a global health epidemic due to the prevalence of obesity throughout the world.
