Robert Waldinger, a researcher from Harvard, discovered that those who have close emotional relationships are often happy and healthy well into old age.

An important finding is that people who don’t have healthy emotional connections with others now can change and it’s not too late to start at any age. Safety is an important factor. People need to know that they’re safe in expressing their emotions to others. It’s an issue of vulnerability and trust.

Prioritizing people; reading emotions; learning to be vulnerable at times; learning how to really listen; letting your words be a promise; are the stepping stones to achieving these connections.
