Especially when you are meeting someone for the first time, you just can’t let them know everything about you. Do not let your first impression be the last one, because there maybe a chance that after knowing certain facts about your life, the person might not show any further interest in you.

Also it’s better to keep certain things under wraps at least till the time you are reasonably sure of the person, his intent and your own gut feeling. So keep a note of the following things, which you should not disclose on your first date.

It’s not great to be extra honest on the first date and talk overtly about your past relationships, affairs, flings etc.

Never ever talk about your past sexual experiences. No matter how broadminded the other person maybe, one day your sexual escapades may put you in an embarrassing situation. Besides it’s just not right.

Try not to divulge too much of your family details like what your parents’ do, where your siblings work or study, and things like that. Also, family problems or crisis are very personal things, which any stranger who you meet for the first time, has no need to know.

It’s not advisable to disclose anything about your financial matters such as your account details, your savings, expenses etc.

Do not talk share the deepest secrets of your life with a person whom you have just met for the first time. It’s like allowing them to know the weakest and strongest points of your life, which only a select few should know.

Discussing too much about work, office, boss and colleagues is also not a great advisable. You never know from where a common friend might emerge and you may land in some unwanted trouble.

Try not sharing too much information about your school or college friends and particularly their habits and preferences.

Remember one thing, sharing your weakness and strengths with someone you have just met for the first time may put you in trouble later. Since you do not know the person inside out, you cannot be sure how they may use those points against you in future. So I suggest that you do not reveal it all and let things fall in place with time.

It’s just good common sense to wait and let the relationship progress to a point where you are comfortable and have enough confidence in the person to start revealing your more intimate details.

Honesty is the best policy’ but when it comes to relationship matters, you have to act in your own smart way.
